As a result, the mind will become clear, relaxed, and inwardly focused. When we meditate, we are fully awake and alert, but our mind is not focused on the external world or on the events taking place around us. Meditation requires an inner state that is still and one-pointed so that the mind becomes silent. When the mind becomes silent and no longer distracts, meditation deepens.
If find your mind drifting, simply focus on listening to the message and you will still receive all the benefit. As you listen, you will effortlessly begin to receive and send out waves of unconditional Divine love. Your body will feel light, your mind will be soothed, and your heart will begin to open as you allow more light to flow through you, feeling like a warm shower for your soul.
As with other types of meditation, this is not about becoming a different person, a new person, or even a better person. It is about bringing awareness and a sense of perspective. You are not trying to turn off your thoughts or feelings. You are to observe them without judgment and eventually to start understanding them better. The goal is to go beyond the mind and experience our essential nature, which is always peace, happiness, and bliss. At first you may notice physical relaxation and emotional calmness, and only later more subtle changes.
